So last night I spent a couple of hours on YouTube watching videos of one of my favorite artists, David Cook. I have not had the pleasure of being able to see him live in concert, so I resort to watching hours of live concert footage that other people have filmed and uploaded. And I thank them so much for that! I was watching some videos of him doing an acoustic set and answering questions at a casino and WOW! His voice sounds amazing acoustic! I am normally not a fan of the raspy singing voice, but I LOVE David's voice! Also, I LOVED it when he stepped away from the mic during the song Lie and sang accapella. SO AMAZING! I'll post a few links to some of these videos at the end of this blog. David seems like the sweetest person ever! He just seems so genuine and humble, and gracious and nice and every other nice thing you can say about a human being. He is one of my top 3 people that I really really really want to see in concert one day and meet/get a hug from. He is my favorite American Idol winner! He came out with a new album towards the end of last year and I urge you to check it out. It is great!

About Me!
Hello everyone. Since this is my first blog, I figured I'd tell you a little bit about me, my interests, and what this blog is going to be all about. So... here goes...
My name is Robyn and I am 26 years old. I am currently living in Saskatchewan, Canada with my uncle and my mom (and my cat Frosty). I have a younger brother and an older sister. After high school I went to University for 5 years. Nothing really came of it because I didn't really know what I wanted to do at first, and I changed my mind a few times before deciding that university just wasn't for me and I wasn't doing well, so I decided to take a break. I never did go back, but I started going to SIAST (basically, a smaller community college) for Early Childhood Education. That's where I am at now, taking my year 2 diploma course. I just started back today. I am also working at the Galaxy movie theatre which is only a 15 minute walk (5 minute drive) from my house. I love it there. The people I work with are very friendly and I get to see movies for free. A couple things that I love are watching movies, watching tv, traveling, listening to music, and going to concerts. The latter two of which this blog is going to be about.
If you were to ask my mom, she will tell you that I go to way too many concerts (is there even such a thing as too many concerts?) and spend way too much money to see bands and artists live. I do go to many many many concerts. I've been to way too many to count actually. Some of my favorites have been Adam Lambert, Michael Buble, RyanDan, Blink 182, Simple Plan, Backstreet Boys, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Good Charlotte, and even more that I can't think of at this very moment.
I find it very hard to describe the feeling that I get when I hear one of my favorite bands or artist singing one of my favorite songs live in concert. There is nothing like it. It is like pure bliss. It makes me feel all warm and tingly inside. That might sound corny, but it's very true. My mom always says to me, "Why pay all that money to see a band live where it's full of noisy people when you can listen to the cd at home in peace and quiet?" I say... She just doesn't understand. There is something about being in a room full of strangers but all being united by that one thing... the music that is being played and the artists that are playing that music. I get teary eyed sometimes when I'm at a concert and I think about the hundreds or thousands of people there and how we are all there for the same reason. I also love it when I hear the entire crowd sing along to a song all at once. I can't imagine how the band or artist feels when they hear that. Especially if it is a song that they wrote.
Anyways... that is a little bit about what I think about concerts. In my following blogs I will be writing more about concerts and why I love them so much. I will recount some of my past favorite concerts and write about some of the concerts that I have coming up right after they have happened. I am going to write about some of my favorite bands and artists and why I love them so much and recommend some of my favorite songs by them. I will write about music that I have been listening to lately and just comment on music in general. I am going to try to post a new blog fairly regularly. If you are a music fan (and even if you are not), I hope you will enjoy reading my blog.
